Toyota is a very reliable car company. They make cars that drivers can depend on for many years and hundreds of thousands of miles. You might know some of their most popular vehicles - the Camry, Corolla, Tacoma, and Prius. The Corolla was introduced in 1968 and has become the best-selling passenger car in the world.

The Camry first became America's favorite passenger car in 1997. Toyota also made the first mass-produced hybrid car - the Prius. And finally, there's the Tacoma pickup truck which is small enough to fit in your garage but tough enough to take on any terrain off road. Let's learn more about why Toyota is so reliable by looking at some numbers.

Toyota Reliability Ratings

If you are thinking of buying a used Toyota, you might be wondering how long it will last. According to the non-profit Consumer Reports, Toyota was ranked second for reliability among 26 car brands, with a score of 74. Mazda took first place from Toyota for the 2021 model year, with a score of 83.

Toyota's luxury brand, Lexus, was third, with a score of 71. Coming in last in the ranking was Lincoln, Ford's luxury brand, with a score of 8.

Consumer Reports' reliability data comes from its members' Auto Reliability Surveys. The non-profit received surveys of 329,000 vehicles, detailing 2000 to 2020 models. Consumer Reports' brand-level rankings are based on the average predicted reliability score for vehicles in the brand's model lineup.

Why Does Toyota Score So Well?

Toyotas are good cars. They're solid, efficient and dependable, according to a report from Consumer Reports. The cars do well in tests from the non-profit, with good powertrains, fuel economy, and comfortable rides.

Toyota is also a reliable brand, according to RepairPal. RepairPal helps car owners find peace-of-mind with free repair estimates and recommendations to local car repair shops.

Toyota ranks 8th out of 32 for all car brands when it comes to reliability, based on ratings from 345 unique models. The average annual repair cost for a Toyota is $441--which means it has great average ownership costs.

The average annual repair cost for all cars is $652 per year, according to RepairPal. This includes both scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repairs.

Even with the average annual repair cost in mind, Toyota is still a wise investment because of its low ownership costs. When you compare it to other brands, Toyota comes out ahead as a smart choice for anyone looking for a dependable car.

Lights and bulbs

Toyota light bulbs are designed to provide optimum illumination for your vehicle. They are available in a variety of wattages and sizes to fit your specific needs. Toyota light bulbs are also made with a tough, polycarbonate construction that is resistant to breaking and shattering.  When it comes to choosing the right light bulbs for your Toyota, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, consider the wattage of the bulb.

Higher wattage bulbs will provide brighter illumination, but may also generate more heat. Second, think about the size of the bulb. Smaller bulbs may be more difficult to install, but will provide better illumination in tight spaces. Finally, consider the type of bulb you need. There are three main types of Toyota light bulbs: halogen, LED, and xenon. Halogen bulbs are the most common type of light bulb used in Toyota vehicles. They are affordable and easy to find, but do not last as long as other types of light bulbs.
